A device that sits in a patient's home — and must work every time.

Taurus Healthcare Pvt Ltd, an ISO 13485 certified company, awarded Hongyi JIG the injection mould development project for their Oxygen Concentrator. The device delivers concentrated oxygen to patients with respiratory conditions — in their homes. The brief was clear: high functionality, clean design that fits a home environment, and production-ready tooling within 60 days.

Three to four design concepts. One final CAD model.

Hongyi JIG developed 3 to 4 design concepts for the concentrator housing and components. Each concept was evaluated against functional requirements, assembly feasibility, and home-environment aesthetics. The final CAD model was selected and locked before any tooling work began — a critical governance step that eliminated costly late-stage changes.

DFM and MoldFlow — before a single cut.

Part and mould designs were optimised through Design for Manufacturability review and MoldFlow simulation. These tools identified potential fill issues, weld lines, and sink marks before any steel was committed. The result: predictable, first-time-right tooling with no surprises at the trial stage. This is the difference between governed tooling and tooling by assumption.

6 moulds. Multi-cavity. 60 days. Assembly on the second trial.

Six injection moulds were developed with multi-cavity configurations for efficient production. Tool steel specification: Mould Base in Domestic 2311 AB Plates, Core and Cavity in 718H IMPAX HI HARD. Hot and cold runner systems were selected based on part geometry and cycle time requirements. The entire tooling programme was completed within 60 days — and assembly was achieved on the second trial.
